Tomáš Petrů, Ph.D., conducts research on Southeast Asia. In particular, he is interested in modern and contemporary history of Indonesia and Malaysia, the interaction of politics, religion, and ethnicity in Indonesia and the Malay World, and in the general history of the Philippines. In our platform, he looks at the rise of social vigilantism in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines from a comparative perspective, and is also interested in the broader dynamics of power and politics in Southeast Asia.
